Sunday We take the ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare and the short drive to our hotel in Enniscorthy.
Tours at Resort
A | To Waterford which is said to be the oldest town in Ireland, and we have a behind the scenes tour of the Waterford Crystal factory, where glowing balls of molten crystal are blown in front of your eyes. The afternoon is free to explore the town where you can see 1,000 years of history in 100 steps!
B | Huntington Castle was built in 1625 and is still in the same family! We have a welcome and guided tour by a family member of the castle and gardens and hear tales of the eccentric occupants whilst meandering through the living quarters and even dungeons! We then follow the Mount Leinster Heritage Trail through Fenagh and Bagenalstown to Kilkenny. Kilkenny, Ireland’s Medieval Capital. It has a mixture of rich cultural heritage, beautiful streetscapes, and great shopping to offer.
C | To the Irish National Heritage Park for a guided tour of this cornerstone of Ireland’s Ancient East, taking in ecological homestead sites and exploring Wexford’s culturally influential heyday. Then time in the county town of Wexford, a lively place with a harbour, shopping, and great views to sea.
Thursday We have a take away breakfast from the hotel and catch the morning ferry back to Wales and home.
