First Day We make our way north to Heysham and the three-and-a-half-hour ferry crossing to the Isle of Man.

Days at Resort

A |  To Castletown, which was the island’s former capital with its narrow streets, quaint houses, and a mediaeval castle. We then view the Calf of Man (look out for the seals!) before spending time in Port Erin with its crystal-clear waters and beautiful setting and we spend some time there. We complete the day with a hour-long, single journey you will never forget on the Isle of Man Victorian Steam Railway, described as 'perfectly frozen in time', from Port Erin to Douglas.

B | Lovely scenery as we make a circular tour including a stop in Ramsey, a bustling town with a busy shopping street, harbour and beach. We return to Douglas for free time in the Afternoon (on the May date you have time to enjoy a ride on the Horse Tramway).

C | We catch the unique Manx Electric Railway from Douglas to Laxey. The line still operates with most of its original Victorian and Edwardian rolling stock. In Laxey we transfer to the Snaefell Mountain Railway for a ride to the summit. The ride takes about 30 minutes and offers amazing views of Laxey Glens and the surrounding countryside. We return via the Mountain Railway and the Electric Railway.

Last Day We return to the mainland and the journey home.
