A Break in Canterbury’s Haven

3 Days | Hotel in the UNESCO grounds of Canterbury Cathedral plus Leeds Castle!

Canterbury Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, stands as a historic beacon in the heart of the city — and we’ll enjoy a truly exclusive stay within its sacred grounds at the Cathedral Lodge. This unique experience offers the rare chance to wake up to the gentle chime of the cathedral bells, enjoy breakfast with breathtaking views of the cathedral itself, and immerse ourselves in the rich history and spiritual atmosphere of one of the UK’s most iconic ancient landmarks. Our trip also includes a visit to the cathedral and a guided tour of Leeds Castle, celebrated worldwide as “the loveliest castle in the world.”

Please note: evening meals, but we are very close to the centre of Canterbury with many eatery options.

Friday We travel to Kent with a lunchtime stop in Royal Tunbridge Wells, a charming and historic spa town. Take time to stroll along the iconic Pantiles, known for its elegant colonnades, boutique independent shops, and great selection of cafés and eateries.

Saturday A full day to explore the beautiful city of Canterbury, including a visit to its world‑famous Cathedral—just a short walk from your hotel. Dating back to 597, the cathedral’s soaring medieval architecture dominates the skyline and offers a fascinating journey through centuries of history.

Sunday We begin the day at Leeds Castle, arriving before it opens to the public for an exclusive private guided tour. Wander through hidden passageways and discover the castle’s lavish interiors, transformed by King Henry VIII for his first wife, Katherine of Aragon. After the tour, enjoy free time to explore the 500‑acre estate at your own pace—wander through vibrant formal gardens, enjoy lakeside walks, or even try your hand at navigating the castle’s famous maze.
