Our hotel has a fantastic scenic location just a couple of miles from stunning Loch Lomond and there is a huge amount packed into our visit both at the hotel and sight seeing trips by coach nearby. This hotel (and their entertainment) has received great feedback on our previous visits, and this year we stay for an extra night!
Thursday To Glasgow and we cross the River Clyde across the Erskine Bridge then on to Loch Lomond and our hotel.
Friday Packed lunches are picked up and we spend the day in Edinburgh, which looks, smells and feels fantastic on the run up to Christmas!
Saturday We pick up our packed lunch and head into the Trossachs ‘the highland in miniature’ and we enjoy a scenic drive via the Duke’s Pass, taking in Loch Achray, and onto the Visitor’s Centre on the shores of Loch Katrine. We then pass Loch Venachar on our way to Stirling. Stirling is a wee city with a big history and punches well above its weight with historic attractions, spectacular scenery, and great shopping! (You may wish to visit the castle (not included) which has magnificent views.)
Sunday In the morning a short, circular scenic tour taking in Loch Lomond, Loch Long and Gare Loch with suitable photo stops before returning to the hotel for lunch (soup and sandwiches). In the afternoon, either relax in the hotel all or join the coach for the short journey to Loch Lomond Shores Shopping Centre which has over 100 shops and views across the famous Loch.
Monday We head home with a stop at Gretna Green.
