Our base for this tour is the pleasant spa town of Harrogate, well known for its tea shops, antique shops, and Turkish baths and our hotel lays on a Yorkshire Winter Package (Details below). We also see some stunning Dale scenery, enjoy a festive afternoon tea at Yorkshire’s most vibrant country house, plus we visit York Christmas Market!
Monday We head north and divert into the Peak District for a stop in Bakewell. It is perhaps best known for its unique and delicious Pudding, but Bakewell has much more to offer. Idyllically situated on the banks of the river Wye, the biggest town in the Peak District National Park’s mellow stone buildings, medieval five-arched stone bridge and quaint courtyards are a magnet for painters, photographers, and sightseers alike.
Tours at Resort
A | We visit the charming village of Haworth which is surrounded by brooding Yorkshire Moorland. It was made famous by the Bronte sisters and has a historic cobbled main street and vintage charm. Later, we visit Harewood House, one of the treasure houses of England, for a visit followed by an afternoon tea. The Festive Afternoon Tea is full of delicious festive flavours such as; turkey, salmon and brie and cranberry feature in our savoury plates and the sweets with festive spices and fruits! It includes high quality ingredients grown at Harewood and you will also be able to take a wonderful winter walk around the gardens and parkland if you wish.
B | All day at the famous York Christmas Market. It is the 30th Anniversary of the St Nicholas Fair and you will find over 100 alpine chalets scattered around the fabulous and already picturesque city centre.
C | A FREE DAY to explore Harrogate from our centrally located hotel before the hotel provides an afternoon tea.
Friday We travel south and make a lunchtime stop in Chesterfield, famous for its crooked spire and markets.
