NEW ITINERARY!Queen Victoria once visited this enchanting region of Scotland and was so captivated by its charm that it became known as Royal Deeside. It's easy to see why—this area is breathtakingly beautiful, with rolling hills, ancient forests, and the River Dee winding through the landscape. It also holds a special place in royal history, as Balmoral Castle—beloved by Queen Elizabeth II—is nestled right here. With five included experiences—each carefully selected to showcase the best of Royal Deeside—this tour promises not just a holiday, but a truly memorable adventure. From royal heritage to Highland charm, it’s a journey fit for royalty!

Wednesday We begin our adventure heading north, crossing the border into Scotland for an overnight stay at the charming Gretna Hall Hotel. There will be time to explore the famous village of Gretna Green (steeped in romantic history and known for its runaway weddings!)
Thursday Today we continue our journey to Aberdeen, stopping for lunch in the historic city of Stirling, home to a magnificent castle and rich Scottish heritage. We then arrive at our 4-star hotel in Aberdeen, where we’ll be based for the next four nights.
Tours at Resort
A | Set against a backdrop of lush, rolling hills, our morning begins at the fairy-tale-like Crathes Castle. Explore its turrets, towers, intricate oak panels, and beautifully painted ceilings. Later, enjoy free time in the picturesque village of Ballater, a favourite of the Royal Family. We round off the day with a nostalgic return journey on the Royal Deeside Railway—a short but scenic ride alongside the River Dee.
B | This morning, we enjoy a 2-hour guided coach tour of Aberdeen, including some walking to fully appreciate the city’s granite charm. The rest of the day is yours to explore at your leisure—perhaps visit the Merchant Quarter, stroll through one of the many parks, or relax in the award-winning gardens.
C | We follow the dramatic coastline north to Peterhead, where we visit the fascinating Prison Museum, once known as 'Scotland’s toughest jail.' In the afternoon, we head to Pitmedden Gardens, where we learn how this historic site was transformed during the World Wars into a vital kitchen garden. Today, it beautifully blends its 17th-century roots with its wartime legacy as part of the Museum of Farming Life.
Monday As we begin our journey home, we cross two iconic bridges—the Tay Bridge and the Forth Bridge, offering spectacular views. We then follow the scenic East Coast of England to our overnight stay at the 4-star Mercure Kings Hotel in Darlington.
Tuesday Our final day includes a lunchtime stop in the delightful market town of Bakewell, nestled in the heart of the Peak District, before continuing home with fond memories.
