The Isle of Wight is a treasure trove of natural beauty, offering stunning coastlines, rolling countryside, vibrant towns, and awardwinning attractions—all wrapped up in one picturesque island destination. These tours are based in Sandown and Shanklin, classic seaside resorts nestled in a beautiful bay known for its golden sandy beach, traditional British seafront, and historic pier. Sandown accommodation is at the fabulous Trouville Hotel, ideally located on Sandown’s seafront with panoramic sea views.
All twin and double rooms at the Trouville feature sea views, and single travelers have the option to upgrade to a sea view room upon request.
Our Shanklin Hotel is the Ocean View, located on the cliffs with stunning views.
First Day We cross by ferry to the Isle of Wight and continue on to our hotel.
Tours at Resort
A | Today we explore two of the Isle of Wight’s most beloved seaside resorts: Ryde is the island’s largest town, boasting a wide stretch of sandy beaches that run along the vibrant seafront. It’s a great spot for browsing boutique shops, visiting museums and galleries, or simply enjoying the coastal atmosphere. Shanklin is a traditional seaside town that regularly tops the charts for sunshine hours. It offers a lovely beach, a variety of shops and cafés, and a charming Old Town with thatched cottages and quaint lanes that are well worth exploring. PLEASE NOTE: on our Shanklin holiday, we visit Sandown instead.
B | We view the magnificent coastal scenery along the south of the island as we travel to Alum Bay overlooking the Needles. Later we call in at Yarmouth with its continental atmosphere and picturesque harbour.
C | We make a stop at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary (free entry but donations welcome) where you can meet all the donkeys, ponies plus, grab a bite to eat if you wish. In the afternoon to Ventnor, great beaches and a long promenade and has a great range of shops.
D | To West Cowes, beautifully set on the estuary with its busy harbour and narrow streets, and on to Newport, the island’s attractive capital at the head of the river.
Last Day A final drive across the island before catching our ferry back to the mainland.
