Dunster by Candlelight

Exmoor & Devon Coast

The remarkably preserved medieval village of Dunster turns its back on the present for one weekend each year and lights it streets with candals. There will be entertainment throughout the night and all of Dunster’s shops will be open for Christmas shopping and street stalls offer delicious food. We also spend a day exploring beautiful Exmoor.


The remarkably preserved medieval village of Dunster turns its back on the present for one weekend each year and lights it streets with candals. There will be entertainment throughout the night and all of Dunster’s shops will be open for Christmas shopping and street stalls offer delicious food. We also spend a day exploring beautiful Exmoor.

Friday We make our way to our hotel with a lunch time stop in MInehead on the north Devon coast.

Saturday A circular tour of Exmoor with a lunchtime stop in Lynton. Then, following an early dinner, we make our way to Dunster (via a shuttle bus from Minehead) for the highlight of the holiday. Returning to our hotel later in the evening.

Sunday We enjoy a ride to the south Devon coast with a stop in Sidmouth. With its superb, privately owned, individual shops, Sidmouth has an excellent reputation as a perfect destination for Christmas shopping. From here we head for home.
