We also spend time in the fascinating city of Durham and on the North Yorkshire Moor’s coast with stops in Whitby and Scarborough. We also see Bakewell on the way to our hotel and York on the way home.

Friday We travel north with a lunch break in the Peak District town of Bakewell, home of the famous pudding.

Saturday During the day we spend our day in Durham, dominated by the cathedral with over 900 years of history. After dinner we head to Auckland Castle for the show. Following an early dinner, we head to Kynren, and as dusk turns to darkness it takes you on a spellbinding voyage through history, myth and legend.

Sunday We start the day with a scenic drive over the Yorkshire Moors via Pickering to the resort of Scarborough. From here we have a scenic coastal drive to Whitby, a maritime city steeped in history with a maze of narrow streets full of shops.

Monday We travel home with a lunch time stop in the famous city of York.
