Based in the historic city of Norwich, this tour shows you the best that Norfolk has to offer including the North Norfolk Railway (also known as the Poppy Line), the Bure Valley Railway and a cruise on the Broads. Sandringham House is a friendly place to visit with guides in every room and acres of beautiful gardens to explore.
Sunday We head towards East Anglia with a lunch time stop in Ely, a city full of charm and beauty with one of the most magnificent cathedrals in England.
Monday We travel to Aylsham where we board the Bure Valley Railway for a journey through unspoilt countryside to Wroxham. After disembarking the train, we have free time in Wroxham for a lunch. Later, we catch a boat from Horning and enjoy a ninety-minute picturesque cruise along the Broads. We return to Norwich via a different scenic route also through the Broads.
Tuesday To the famous Sandringham Estate: The Norfolk retreat of The King. There is time to explore the 24-hectares of stunning gardens, the house (with knowledgeable guides in every room) and the museum. Free time in Norwich on our return.
Wednesday We make a short stop in Wells-next-the-Sea before continuing to Holt for a ride on the North Norfolk Railway to Sheringham. We then have free time in Sheringham, a traditional fishing village.
Thursday We return with a lunchtime stop in Saffron Walden, a delightful medieval market town.
