Friday To France by Eurotunnel and on to a warm welcome from our hotel’s friendly hosts.
Saturday To Koblenz for the day. In the morning we visit The Romanticum, an exceptional museum which is completely interactive. In the afternoon you are free to explore this historic town which is one of Germany’s treasures which is at the meeting point of the Rhine and Moselle rivers.
Christmas Eve Enjoy a day at leisure in Boppard with its excellent promenade and panoramic views of the river. Why not explore the town’s shops, cafes and stalls at this festive time. Our hotel lays on lunch and then in the evening we have a special German Christmas Eve meal with a pianist playing carols. There is also a small gift for everybody.
Christmas Day We have an Xmas Buffet Breakfast and then are served a UK Christmas Lunch with sparkling wine! In the afternoon we enjoy a return journey on the nearby Hunsruck Mountain Train which takes in 2 viaducts, 5 tunnels and wonderful views of the forested mountains. On our return we have a glass of mulled wine and in the evening there is a buffet dinner with live music to follow.
Boxing Day We enjoy a cruise on the River Rhine before returning to our hotel for a German speciality lunch, Pea Soup and Frankfurter. In the afternoon we visit a local vineyard for a talk about the area and a tasting of four wines.
Wednesday We return home.
