A superb tour viewing some of Britain’s finest scenery in both the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. Our centre is Morecambe with its level, five mile promenade and superb views across the bay to the Lakeland hills, especially at sunset. We also enjoy an evening trip to enjoy the famous Blackpool lights to add to all the extras on this great holiday.
Sunday We travel north with a stop at Trentham Shopping Centre.
Tours whilst at resort
A The Yorkshire Dales beckon today as we travel via the beautiful Lune Valley into the Pennine Mountains through lovely but remote countryside, to call at Hawes in Wensleydale. Whilst in Hawes we enjoy a demonstration and tasting at the Wensleydale Cheese Shop. Our return is through scenic Garsdale and Sedbergh to call at Kirby Lonsdale. In the evening we have an early dinner before we view the Blackpool Illuminations.
B Into the southern Lake District and we enjoy a boat ride from Lakeside, on the southern tip of Windermere, to Bowness. We have time to explore Bowness before continuing to our afternoon visit to Holker Hall & Gardens. The estate is set in exceptionally beautiful countryside with gardens that merge into parkland, framed by the Lakeland Hills.
C Into the northen lakes today and we view 7 lakes in total! We pass Windermere, Rydal, Grasmere and Thirlmere en route to our lunchtime stop in Keswick, set near Derwent Water. On our return we view Ullswater and Brothers Water before a dramatic ride over the Kirkstone Pass.
Friday We return home
